Using Intangible Cultural Heritage as a Medium to Convey the Soul of Craftsmanship
The Chaozhou winds blow strong, and the ancient city resounds with joy. During the annual Chaozhou Qinglong Temple Fair’s intangible cultural heritage parade, the Guangdong Jinqiangyi Ceramics delegation, carrying a golden dragon banner embroidered with “Guangdong Jinqiangyi Ceramics,” marched with resounding steps through the archway street, showcasing the company’s deep connection with local culture through a grand folk event brimming with Chaozhou charm.

The Chaozhou Qinglong Temple Fair, a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage passed down for hundreds of years in the Chaoshan region, centers on the worship of Anji Shengwang (Wang Kang, the Prefect of Yongchang during the Three Kingdoms period of Shu Han). It embodies the Chaozhou people’s beautiful wishes for blessings, disaster relief, and the protection of dikes and rivers, and is hailed as a “mobile intangible cultural heritage museum.” Since its formation during the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty, this grand event has connected dozens of local intangible cultural heritage skills, such as Chaozhou gongs and drums, Yingge dance, and cloth horse dance, becoming an important link connecting Chaozhou people at home and abroad and preserving Chaoshan culture. Every year during the first month of the lunar calendar, the ancient city streets are adorned with fluttering flags and resounding with drums and music. This is not only a folk festival but also a testament to the Chaozhou people’s commitment to and inheritance of their cultural roots.
As a local enterprise deeply rooted in the mid-to-high-end hotel ceramics sector, Jinqiangyi Ceramics has always been grounded in the fertile cultural soil of Chaozhou. The spirit of meticulousness, integrity, and innovation embodied in the Qinglong Temple Fair is integrated into the research and development and production of every piece of ceramic tableware. Just like the centuries-old intangible cultural heritage techniques displayed in the parade, Jinqiangyi’s dedication to ceramic craftsmanship is also a pursuit of the ultimate in craftsmanship: from raw material selection to kiln firing, from shape design to meticulous detail polishing, every product carries a reverence for quality and continues the millennia-old craftsmanship of Chaozhou ceramics.
This appearance at the Qinglong Temple Fair is not only Jinqiangyi’s tribute to local folk culture but also a vivid interpretation of the company’s philosophy of “building its soul with culture and establishing its foundation with quality.” Using this century-old event as a link, we connect Chaozhou people at home and abroad with their shared hometown sentiments; using craftsmanship as a bridge, we convey the beauty of Chaozhou ceramics to every partner. In the future, Jinqiangyi will continue to cultivate the mid-to-high-end hotel ceramics market, innovating while inheriting traditions, and moving forward while adhering to principles, so that the warmth of Chaozhou ceramics can illuminate high-end catering scenarios around the world, and write a new chapter in the symbiosis of local enterprises and culture, and the journey with the times.
